A friend asked me the other day why I was so fascinated with domains with pagerank and even writing blogs about it. Well, I was searching for something online one day and could not really find sites with the information I was looking for. Then I started thinking about why it actually is that some webpages are high up in the search results and others further down. I always thought it had something to do with the keywords I had been searching after and how many times they were repeated on the webpage. I always figured that if I could not find what I was searching for, it must be due to bad keywords. Today I am much wiser and know that it is much more complicated than such and that I can also blame the algorithms rather than myself, when I don’t find what I seek

There are some really strange stains and rather disturbing stains on my bedroom wall, I’ve got to get them out ‘cause the bloody things are really freaking me out here. I’ve basically tried everything water and soap and all the commercial stuff. Nothing seems to work here, the stains stubbornly refuse to get hell out. I don’t know what to try next. Cloud VPS Hosting perhaps? No that’s obviously got something to do with computers and nothing whatsoever with removing ghastly stains from apartments. I don’t really care about the name of the cure or even if it smells it just got to work. Seriously these things are like nightmarish Rorschach ink dots designed to deconstruct my mind. And it will, that will, work too. I can feel my mind going as we speak. But wait we are speaking, are we? Sorry about that, I’ve got this habit of paraphrasing movie dialogue.

Surveys and their following result pop up everywhere. Question is how good and useful they in reality are, though. I have come a across countless of daft surveys with confusing and remarkably stupid questions in my time. I do try to answer them all and send them back, if I find the time. It’s sort of a hobby of mine (yes, I’m a bit weird although I like to call myself eccentric). It’s amazing really how people can put well structured survey tools to such apparent misuse. I’m not saying I would do much better (somewhat I’m sure) but I most definitely can spot a turkey when I see one. And these days they are so common you can almost touch the feathers on a daily basis (okay, weekly basis is probably more like it). I can’t fend off the notion that people make their surveys like this on purpose. They don’t want the truth they’re looking for something else. Namely the right answer to their question which more often than not stands a good deal apart from subjects real opinions. That’s probably why you from time to time stumble upon questionnaires distributed by expertly cut survey tools which include flagrantly bad and leading questions. They don’t care for the truth they want to prove something regardless of what people really feel.
